I did not read the reviews for this book and bought it on impulse. It is a great book with lots of info but it is definitely for older children. It has a lot of information and requires a reader with a somewhat longer attention span
The illustrations are beautiful, and my son (9 years) says this is exactly what he was looking for when he wanted a mythology reference book for his age. I think it will grow with him, too, as there is enough detail.
I wanted to have a good mythology book in my collection for my child, to act as a jumping off point into the world of myth and legend, and I think I found it. Also, the illustrations are great, and tailored to each legend's geographic origin, which I love. I think this will be a great book for her when she gets to the age where she wants to learn about these types of stories.
