This is a lovely inspiring book. If you are into DIY projects you will love Helen Ellery's unique way of doing things to make the most of the seasons. Projects like painting an organza panel with flowers and hanging up in front of a french door, so that it looks like you are looking into a garden, putting down a green carpet, in anticipation of spring, this is all about welcoming the seasons, how to bring the different seasons into your home, on a budget, this is a very different interior book, but I often pick it up as the editorial is inspiring to say the least. The photographs are beautiful, the text legible and eloquent, I'm very glad I bought this book and I will keep an eye out for more books by Helen Ellery.
If you are looking to upholster your fridge freezer with a cloth that looks like a snowman, then this book is for you! But for grown-ups? I don't think so. It is a cute book - perhaps suitable for students. It seems unfinished, in draft form with lots of childlike sketches and out-of-focus photographs. I was disappointed, having seen an article in a magazine with a couple of photos of the author's lovely home and hoping for inspiration.
This book is just amazing and a real treat to read. Not like any other book that I have read regarding interior design. really made me think differently about how to bring ideas inside my home from the things that I value outside in my garden. Packed full of ideas with lovely photographs to look at. Very good book and highly recommend it just be open minded and it will surprise you what you can achieve in your home.
