I used this to polish my cast iron fireplace and the metal comes up lovely and shiny. Will buy again. If you have never used this before please make sure you wear rubber gloves and avoid getting it onto anything else as it makes an awful mess. One interesting thing I found was when putting some on black emulsion (for something else) I found it polished the paint up like metal which for me was great.

Good stuff ! Messy…but really good stuff.
I made the terrible mistake of decorating the room and then deciding to do the fireplace, and this is a very bad idea because this polish gets everywhere, so wear some gloves.
i applied it with a brush and the odd bit of polish flicked up onto the walls and fire surrounds, so they needed repainting. But the transformation this polish will give your fireplace is well worth it. It goes jet black, then once your finished, leave it 4-5 hours of preferably overnight and then polish it up with a soft cloth…the more you polish it the more of a silvery finish you will get.

Finished off our restored cast iron fireplace really well.

Easy to apply and not at all messy like other reviews here have suggested. I applied using a light cloth and made sure to mask off the surrounding white wall.

I have recently had a log burner fitted and it got really dusty when the room was being re-plastered etc, this brought it up a treat, made it look brand new again, also a small amount goes a long way. Definitely recommend
