- A recent introduction first discovered by Ludovic Ladan on his nursery near the Pointe du Raz in Brittany.
- A neat and compact evergreen shrub with glossy, deep green leaves and a pleasing rounded habit.
- The lush foliage is complimented in summer by an absolute avalanche of beautiful pink flower clusters. Like all Escallonia the flowers are tubular in shape but on Pink Eillie the clusters are bigger and carried in greater numbers.
- Dead-head the plant and you will be rewarded with a second showing of flowers in autumn although the second flush may not be as prolific as the first.
- Looks great in a sunny border but also makes a fine specimen in its own right. Growing just 90-100 cm tall Escallonia Pink Ellie also makes a super container or pot plant for the patio or courtyard and for good measure can be successfully grown as a flowering hedge.
