A Tedious Read

I find comparison's between this text and DH Lawrence's Son's and Lovers puerile at best and pedantic at worst
Turgenev's writing has the quality of silver--so shiny and luminous and silky, not as trenchant as Doest, nor as moving as Chekov, but still, a master well worth reading.
