Our friends at Hartington Creamery 'The smallest Stilton producer in the world', also make the wonderful formerly known as a PDO now a UK Protected Designation of Origin status assigned local Derbyshire Dovedale Blue Cheese.
This wonderfully unique and rare cheese is both softer and less dense than stilton with a wonderful blue tangy taste.
This cheese is produced in small batches using only hand-made methods, making it a true artisan product. Dovedale has been awarded a PDO now a UK Protected Designation of Origin meaning that it can only be produced in Derbyshire and Staffordshire in the Peak District area within 50 miles of the river Dove.
Matured for 6-8 weeks, the cheese has a sumptuously smooth texture with a delicate creamy blue flavour quite continental in texture.
Please note Blue Cheese has a much shorter best before end date 7-14 days is normal.
