An amazing workhorse for the IJN

Starting with the carrier dive-bomber doctrine within the Imperial Japanese Navy in the late 20's and early 30's, the author runs throughout the development and tests which culminated in the Type 99 carrier-based and its variants.

More Please!

Very well done book on this awkward looking but very effective IJN dive bomber.

A legendary aircraft finally explained

If you are a scale modeler of Japanese aircraft or an aviation history buff, this is a book you're sure to enjoy.

Great book on a war plane of the IJN.

I was so excited when I this book was going to be released!

Excellent Overview of the Val

This is an excellent primer on the Val -- through its development, initial use in China, and during the first six months of the Pacific War.

Eagerly awaiting Volume 2

The D3A is one of the Pacific War's \"usual suspects\" that's always mentioned but seldom examined.

A Real Gem

Another great release by Osprey, this one giving us a new look at various air/naval battles from the Japanese point of view.

OK as far as it goes

I bought the book mainly for the color profiles as a guide to building a model of the Val.

Glory Days of the Aichi Val!

The Aichi Type 99 Carrier-based Bomber was the Japanese equivalent of the Ju 87 Stuka.
